Information about Internships
Getting an Internship
Internships are professional level, short term positions with companies that are related to your business degree. They can be full-time or part-time, 3 months or 6 months, and can also be alternating quarters between work and school(ex. work summer, school fall, work winter, etc. - this is typically called a co-op.) Internships help you explore your chosen major, apply your skills, and gain experience in a professional environment. Professional experience prior to graduation can be the key to making yourself a marketable candidate when you are seeking a full-time position with your degree - Fisher students who do internships average $1500 to $4000 higher starting salaries than those who don't. Most business internships are paid. Career Management staff assist you from the first draft of your resume and preparation for the interview through the actual completion of the co-op or internship.
