Andrea Thomas
Andrea Thomas is a junior in the Fisher College of Business at the Ohio State University. Andrea is pursuing a major in Finance with a minor in Economics. In the winter of her sophomore year, Andrea was accepted into the Fisher College of Business Honors Cohort Program which challenges her with a schedule of elevated business courses. Andrea is a peer advisor for the Fisher College of Business; where she serves as a teaching assistant for a class of 120 freshman business students. In addition, Andrea is an active member of her sorority, Kappa Alpha Theta, where she holds the position of social chair and serves on the risk management team and finance committee. She is accountable for the allocation of funds and the coordination of numerous events each quarter.
Andrea interned during the summer of 2007 in New York City and continues to hold her analyst position while working from Columbus for DealMaven, a provider of training and productivity software for financial professionals. As an analyst, Andrea assisted the CEO in reviewing financial modeling case studies focused on DCF analysis. Andrea gained additional experience by assisting in numerous investment banking training sessions and fielding questions pertaining to financial modeling and Microsoft Excel on a daily basis. Andrea is certified through DealMaven in both Applied Financial Modeling and LBO Transactions Analysis. Prior to this, she worked part-time throughout her sophomore year as an intern at Morgan Stanley’s downtown, Columbus office. From this experience, she developed an understanding of financial advising and aided in client recruiting and relations.
