Highlighting her dedication to advancing and elevating the study of marketing, Fisher’s Rebecca Reczek has earned two prestigious appointments.

Reczek was named a member of the Marketing Science Institute’s (MSI) inaugural class of MSI Scholars, and was appointed an associate editor of the Journal of Consumer Research.

Reczek, an associate professor of marketing, was one of 34 mid-career faculty from around the world selected for the new MSI initiative, which was developed to recognize excellence in marketing scholarship, to develop a cohort across marketing disciplines and to strengthen ties between scholars and MSI.

“The MSI Scholars are among the most prominent marketing scholars in the world, and we look forward to their ideas about setting the agenda for the field and helping to bridge the gap between research and practice,” MSI executive director Carl Mela said in a release.

The distinction is the second honor Reczek has received from the MSI. In 2013, she was named and MSI Young Scholar in recognition of her research into consumer behavior and decision making.

“Rebecca’s selection as an MSI Scholar and as an associate editor at the Journal of Consumer Research speaks to incredible research talent she possesses,” said Tom Goldsby, chair of Fisher’s Department of Marketing and Logistics. “In addition to establishing herself as a leading consumer behavior researcher, Rebecca is a dedicated teacher in the classroom, where her intellectual curiosity and knowledge is positively impacting students at Fisher.”
