Oded Shenkar, the Ford Motor Company Chair in Global Business Management and professor of management and human resources at Fisher, was recently named the 2018 recipient of the Distinguished Scholarly Contribution Award by the International Association for Chinese Management Research.

The award recognized Shenkar as a pioneer of Chinese management research for the past 40 years, having studied, written and published research on Chinese culture, Chinese management values, and comparative management styles between China and the West. Shenkar’s research and insights have been featured in mainstream media outlets including The Wall Street Journal, The New York Times, the Financial Times, NPR, CNN and CCTV.

He has appeared before the U.S.-China Economic & Security Review Commission and is a past vice president and Fellow of the Academy of International Business.

Shenkar has authored numerous books on management, including most recently Navigating Global Business: A Cultural Compass. The book provides researchers and practitioners alike with insights into human diversity and international business management through the exploration of culture, including language and religion. Co-authored with Simcha Ronen, the book looks at how management patterns have changed, providing a unique look at globalization.
